Intense focus

Updated: Jan 28

Psalm 40:1 says "I waited patiently for the Lord..." but the sentiment of this phrase is lost in the English translation. Waiting patiently, in Hebrew, conveys a far more intense focus and singular confidence in God in the midst of darkness and despair. It is a posture of supreme confidence in God and His ability to redeem and rescue.

Like the puppy in the picture who is focused on the treats, we are encouraged to be equally attentive to God and his power to bring us up and out of the difficulties we encounter.
